Captain Bligh was a nurturing sort with a caring, sharing way with the cat’o'ninetails and he rose to be Guv of NSW. Captain Queeg was a stickler for making sure everyone had just the right share of the strawberries. A ‘consensus’ sort of guy in the Bob Hawke mold. Then there was Admiral Rickover who brokered no opposition or competition, firing Captains and Lt Cmdrs left and right when he was single-handedly designing and building the US nuke submarine fleet (the Russkies had three design teams working competetively – go figure).

The Navies of the world share a tradition of promoting people well above their capability. Possibly something to do with sea-sickness.

I don’t know, the pussy pass’ effectiveness is reduced when the victim is female, that said her attractiveness will probably count in her favor, unless the victim is even prettier, which is probably unlikely.

I’m going to guess she’ll get 1/3 of what a man would have gotten for doing this to another man and about 1/9th of what he would have gotten for doing it to a woman.

Still, it’s way more than she would have gotten if she’d done it to a man; sympathy from the judge for the trauma of seeing his face cut up, and her dry cleaning bills paid for by him to get the blood removed.
