"Men's Issues From The Viewpoint of a Progressive Swine."

“Pissed off, man-hating feminist cannibals!”

doghouse thumbIn our misandrist culture it’s not often that one comes across a movie with an openly Men’s Movement theme, but that’s what Jake West’s “Doghouse” clearly is.

The premise of this horror-comedy is a radical one – the women of a small British town are becoming insanely violent, pouncing on the men, ripping them to pieces, then devouring their still-steaming flesh! Kind of like Harriet Harman without the table manners!

Writer Daniel Schaffer makes it pretty hard to miss the masculist subtext of the movie. Apart from the Danny Dyer line about the scientists having created “An army of pissed off, man-hating feminist cannibals”, the male characters are all involved with some bitch of a woman, except for the gay guy, who is involved with some bitch of a man!

One of the straight guys, Vince, has been dumped by his wife, who having eaten up his insides has now decided to throw away the husk. It is this dumping which is the catalyst for the weekend getaway planned by the lads to convince Vince that there is life after the succubus, and it is Vince that best sums up the movie’s masculist intentions in a memorable speech  about what so often happens in marriage – the man is foolish enough to become what the woman wants him to be, then the woman gets bored with Mr Mature And Responsible and dumps him for something with more bells and whistles!

Doghouse is not without its problems. The men are far less than perfect. Actually, they’re a bunch of clowns, but the women come off looking far worse, and it must have been hard enough for West and company to get this thing off the ground without filling the movie with males who are intellectual and moral paragons.

The humor is also very basic – I was at times reminded of the old Carry On movies, especially in the scene where three of the blokes get into some dresses and wigs so they can blend in with the rampaging GynoBeasts! No scintillating repartee here, but the whole thing is done with enough energy and zap to make for an entertaining 90 minutes even for those of us who don’t care about the politics.

If you want a break from the misandrist idiocy habitually spewed from the bowels of  the Hollywood Garbage Factory, then pop down the old DVD shop and rent a copy of Doghouse, or if you’re not in England you may want to grab it from eBay – mine cost about 20 Aus dollars  including postage.

Here  at Porky’s we like to objectify women, mostly because it gives feminists the royal shits, so here is a pic of Emily Booth, who plays “The Snipper”, one of the cannibal wiminz.

Cleans up rather nicely, I must say.

Trailer below. This trailer includes what seems to be a castration scene which didn’t make it into the movie, which is a good thing – I’ve had enough of that self-loathing crap from Robert Rodriguez garbage like Sin City and Planet Terror.
