Female Privilege – In China!

CHINESE WOMEN ONLY PARKING SIGNYes, the Blue Ringed Octopus of Matriarchy is spreading its tentacles to that once staunch bastion of patriarchy known to its denizens as the Celestial Empire, and to the rest of the world as “Those bastards that keep poisoning our dogs,” with the introduction of female-only parking spaces!

The Wanxiang-Tiancheng shopping center’s new girl-friendly car spaces are three feet wider than usual because as we all know from experience and recent research, the average woman is only slightly more skillful at parking her car than a drunken one-eyed midget who hasn’t slept in a week. Lest the shopping center’s acknowledgment of women’s inadequate parking skills tempt feminists to say this is not female privilege but rather a covert insult inflicted on all those poor oppressed Chinese wiminz, I will point out the other benefits entailed in the center’s changes.

Not only are the new parking spaces painted a pretty pink and light purple, they also feature extra lighting, come with parking attendants especially for the spatially-challenged sex, and are decorated with figures of cartoon characters! Gee, I wonder if they’ll come up with parking spaces just for men? Male-only parking bays decorated with paintings of scantily clad women and sports heroes? Probably not.

Perhaps the most sinister part of the linked report is this suggestion that the gals are being given extra security..

“The Wanxiang-Tiancheng shopping centre had also “installed signs and security monitoring equipment that corresponded more to women’s needs”,”

We are not told precisely what that means but it does seem as if the gals are getting security mods aimed specifically at them. It may all seem like a small thing , but that’s how it starts – today they use their lack of parking ability as an excuse for better parking facilities, tomorrow they’ll use the deeds of long-dead men to argue that they should get preferential treatment in education and employment.
