2009 Traffic Report

When visiting other small MRA blogs I often wonder what their traffic is, and if I’m the only guy actually reading their stuff. I’m assuming at least some of you are wondering the same about Porky’s Place so here is the first of our Annual Traffic Reports. I wasn’t planning on posting anything about traffic until we broke the 10 thousand visitors per month mark but having just taken a look at the stats for the past year I notice our traffic has been growing at a very fast rate for the last few months so I thought I would share with you this screen capture.
In Feb. of 2009 (Jan. doesn’t count as we set up the site after the month was at least half over) we had 64 unique visitors, in July of 2009 we had 1380, and in December we had 5680! As for January 2010, only one week in and we’ve had 1546 visitors with a predicted monthly total of about 6000!
Pretty good for a first year, but we still have a long way to go before we are in there with the big sites like Glenn Sacks’ (about 50 thousand visits a month), the Spearhead ( 70 thousand) and MND (about 100 thousand a month) We are however closing in on some of the smaller well-known blogs despite their having been around at least twice as long as Porky’s (I won’t mention the names of those blogs as they may not want their traffic disclosed).
So it looks as if the Porky experiment has worked, and I have more tricks up my sleeve, so there’s no reason to expect the blog to do anything except continue to thrive. Obviously those thousands of visits are made up of you folks out there, so Porky and I would like to thank all our readers, so thank you, and tell your friends!
