This month’s recipient of the Silver Pomegranate is British Home Secretary Alan Johnson, the man in charge of the Home Office’s “Together We Can End Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy”, a campaign against sexual and domestic violence which deliberately avoids helping male victims.
Why is this campaign not called the “Together We Can End Domestic and Sexual Violence Strategy ?” Since most victims in these areas are female, most of the victims receiving help would still be women and girls, but the male minority would not be neglected, nor would they be told that their problems don’t exist. The fact that women are about two thirds of the victims is simply not a morally or intellectually valid reason to completely exclude the approximately 25-33 % of victims who are male. Imagine if you will, the British government setting up an anti-murder campaign that focuses only on preventing the murders of men! After all, most victims of murder are males, yet the government would never use this as an excuse to ignore the minority of victims who are female. The same goes for drug abuse, most addicts are male, yet when did you last see a government launch an anti-drug campaign aimed solely at men and boys? It doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen because whether the minority or majority of victims, men and boys don’t matter, women and girls do.
Then of course there is the inherent misandry in focusing only on the two areas where most victims are women! Why are there no campaigns against murder, and assault and battery? Because most of the victims of those crimes are men and boys that’s why! Hell, things being what they are, if the UK government did launch such a campaign they would probably focus on the minority of victims who are female!
Along the way Johnson and his mates take the opportunity to regurgitate all sorts of feminist hate speech such as the idea that that the “sexualisation of popular culture and the ubiquity of sexualized imagery of women and girls constitute a problem with respect to Violence Against Women And Girls”, without of course explaining why wanting to shag them would also make you want to whack them, and that “More than one in four women in England and Wales since aged 16 has experienced at least one incident of domestic abuse,” without telling us what definition of domestic abuse was used to generate such a high figure – “No honey, i will not give you my entire pay packet so you can buy that Versace dress!” would classify as “financial abuse” in many studies!
The initiative also has a significant element of Big Sister to it, with plans to brainwash schoolchildren into seeing domestic and sexual violence through the twisted lens of feminism…
“From 2011, preventing violence in relationships will be included in personal, social, health and economic education in schools. This will ensure that attitudes which condone and perpetuate violence against women are addressed before they become entrenched in young people.”
Given the anti-male tenor of the entire strategy, it is safe to say that the feminist view is exactly what the kiddies will be spoon-fed.
Johnson writes in the foreword to the document outlining the strategy …
‘Violence against women and girls ruins lives, breaks up families and has a lasting impact across the generations.”
Yeah, so does violence against men, but you wouldn’t give a shit about that would you, you bastard!
