Leelee Sobieski Loses It On The Night Train
Night Train is my kind of Christmas movie!
Tis the night before Christmas, and Leelee Sobieski, Danny Glover and Steve Zahn are on a train traveling through the dark night of the soul, when on hops a strange little man carrying a strange little box. What’s inside? Is it Myrrh, is it frankincense, is it Sonia Sotomayor’s gym shorts? No it’s something even more horrifying, and before you know it everyone is looking inside the little box and seeing something that obsesses them, something they must have, something that corrupts their souls.
Why am i telling you this? Because Night Train is one of the few American horror movies with a female psycho – all the primary characters are corrupted, but none more so than the oddly attractive Sobieski, who by night’s end has racked up the film’s biggest body count. Beyond that i don’t want to give anything away except to mention that the film also has a very subtle strand of humor running through it, features references to the Maltese Falcon and co-stars Rocky Horror’s Richard O’Brien as the most unconvincing transvestite since Dame Edna burst out of Moonee Ponds.
If you want scare the crap out of the kiddies on Christmas night, go out and rent Night Train – it’s especially enjoyable during a venison dinner…
